The MR2′s replacement choice’s

The MR2 is a write-off, and although very disappointing it does open a few doors to attain a car which was not affordable previous to me getting the MR2. Mostly this is due to been able to save up a nice deposit now that I’m no longer paying any finance or insurance, so I’ve given myself a budget of £12,000 to get myself a modern car which will tick off following criteria:

  • I would like a fairly quick car, this is obvious so a car which is in the 6′s to 60mph will do just fine
  • My next car has to be fun to drive
  • Insurance costs must not exceed £1300
  • I would like fuel to average approximately 30mpg
  • I definatly dont want to pay £400 road tax

So my choice’s so far are:

  1. Civic Type-R (FN2) maybe a championship white edition
  2. Focus ST
  3. Megane R26
  4. Mazda RX8

All have there pro’s and con’s which I’ll discuss later, but there all closely matched and equal out on fuel, insurance and tax.
